Woodland Games - afterparty!
hosted by Kikimora Records
WATERFLOWER + JUDY BRUSH BINGO + KIKIMORA DJs
Saturday 17 August 2024, doors 19:00
Birmingham Brewing Company, Stirchley
Kikimora Records invite you to the Woodland Games closing concert - a botanical disco at Birmingham Brewing company on Saturday 17 August!
There'll be an immersive live set from Waterflower - the experimental project of eco-futurist artist Sabīne Moore. Based in Latvia, Waterflower brews a fusion of art pop, electronic noise and ethereal melody using a “living plant orchestra” - real plants and mushrooms directly connected to synthesizers!
Plus local enigma Judy Brush will be bringing us a bonkers round of bingo with a song or too! With Kikimora behind the DJ decks and kaleidoscopic visuals bouncing off the walls, this will be an otherworldly eco-celebration to end another joyous edition of the Woodland Games.
WHATS ON
WATERFLOWER | listen here |
Latvia's Waterflower makes music with plants and mushrooms, channeling the frustration of dying nature. Working on themes of ecology, extinction and psychology, Waterflower’s shows are immersive, audiovisual experiences, merging noise, ambient music, electronic pop and digital hardcore. Their shows combine futuristic video animations with post-apocalyptic experimental sounds, exploring possible futures and avant-garde territories.
JUDY BRUSH BINGO | listen here |
Our beloved troubadour Judy Brush will lead the good people of Stirchley in a game of semi-musical Bingo! Expect nothing and everything all at once; sing-a-longs? likely! winners? definitely! chaos? maybe...
Solo producer/performer Judy Brush makes tunes of defiant avant-pop. Psychedelic, hip shaking rock and roll. With the odd punk disco thrown in. A desperado clinging on to the realest of real with tape cassette in hand.
KIKIMORA DJS
Rosie & Emily of Kikimora will be on the decks spinning a plethora of danceable tunes; from psych, to art-pop, electronica and more weaved together with botanical sounds.
Bring yer dancing shoes!
